Aqua, Bajaj and Tupperware Bomb…
What do most Indonesians call mineral water? Answer …Aqua.
The scooter-trishaws in Jakarta – also found in India? …Bajaj.
The plastic food container? ….Tupperware.
The respective brand executive – please take a bow.
That’s a tremendous amount of recognition from more than 240 million Indonesian consumers.
True, not all Indonesian ride the Bajaj or can afford to buy a Tupperware food container.
But almost everyone drink mineral water as most water is not safe for drinking.
So, no matter what brand of mineral water they drink – it’s called Aqua.
Recently, Tupperware received another description to its name. Tupperware Bomb.
This latest Indonesian terrorists’ invention came to light after police arrested the Palembang group.
For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been spending my Tuesdays and Thursday in a Jakarta Court following the trial these terrorists’ – which include Singaporean Mohd Hassan or Fajar Taslim.
The official police documents stated “Tupperware Bomb”.
And the prosecutors actually brought dozens of “Tupperware bombs” into the courtroom.
Of course, the police said the bombs have been deactivated.
But hey…bombs are bombs. I felt like running for cover the moment they took them out to show the judges.
The bomb parts are packed neatly into a “Tupperware” similar to the ones you have your noodles packed to go.
And they are meant to be detonated by a timer or remote control.
Quite sophisticated…
The hearing is expected to last for 3 months.
I’m sure there’ll be more evidence be produced during the hearing.
Oh, by the way the plastic containers used to pack the bombs are not exactly Tupperware brand - too expensive may be.
(I can’t seem to upload photos of the “tupperware bombs”. Hmmm..I wonder why)
