about me

Published by steven chia

A broadcast journalist by profession, my day job sees me hosting a programme called Primetime Morning on Channel NewsAsia which covers a spectrum of news, business, sports and entertainment. It’s a morning news programme to help you kick start the day.

My other full time job is being a Dad to my little girl Lucy and my third job sees me volunteering on a variety of community projects with organisations such as the YMCA of Singapore and the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre.

If you’ve got any feedback/ comments you want to share directly with me, you can reach me at stevenchia@channelnewsasia.com

It’s really nice to know a person like you, even though just through a news program like Prime Time Morning. You and Suzanne have blessed me in a way you both probably didn’t realize. Keep up the good work. I pray for you and your family. I really hope I can see you and your family someday, when I come to Singapore. Just want to say, Lucy is so cute….

Your sense of humour and cheerful demeanor are great to have every morning when we are struggling to get ready to face the challenges of a new day. Hope you’ll continue to host PTM for many years to come.

Yup, every morning when I wake up early to get ready for work, the first thing I’ll do is to switch on PTM hoping that both you and Suzanne are hosting the programme for the day. It has become part of my daily routine. Your sense of humour especially makes a great start to my day.

    Hi Steven,

CNA is the first thing I see in the morning whilst my reqular exercise goes on. I really like to see you & suzanne team up. Both of you are so naturally in sync together, making you both a perfect match on CNA . Nobody else can replace S & S team.

You are intersting, lively & humorous host that make my day every morning. I will be very dissappointed if one day you say goodbye to CNA. Pls don’t.

    Warmest regards, JoJo

    Hi Steven,

Saw your interview with two guys who came to Sri Lanka recently and did a project donating rice and taking some nice pics of our country. Would you know how I can get in touch with them? Suggestion for the site….in your morning show part of the website it would be good if you can have at least the past weeks interviews and additional information. This would help people who want to followup on your stories. Great job by you and Suzanne.

    From sunny Sri Lanka

    Steven,

When are you and Suzzane coming back to Primetime Morning? Both of you have perfect chemistry to bring in early morning news plus Jennifer Alejandro’s keen business insights make it all worth watching.

    Hi Steven:

So…you’ve gone reservist training. My kids were jus wondering where u and Suzanne have gone.

My kids are great fans of yours (esp Sam, my youngest who’ll be 15 this year) and a few other newscasters. I would say, “Hey Sam, your friend is on TV” and he would come watching whenever he’s home during the school hols.

Tks for making PTM a pleasurable time for family get-together. See u Monday. Ciao!

    Hi Steven
Love watching PTM esp when S & S are on air. Great team! Both you and Suzanne are such a perfect team…. so very natural. Your sense of humour & her meekness is so unforgettable.

    Hey Steven

Kudos to you and your team.

There is a strong sense of connection you can establish with the audience over the airwaves that is Brilliant.

    Looking forward to more!

Was a great fan until I was posted overseas…

Wonder why there is no response on blogs on CNA? It feels that they have not been read (just comments from a Newbie)

  21. steven chiaon 21 Aug 2009 at 1:01 pm

    hi Tik,

Sorry you can’t catch the show overseas. In the past we could not reply to comments unless we “commented” on ourselves :) That was recently changed. So yes, we can now reply to comments made. Thanks for writing in.

  22. TIKon 25 Aug 2009 at 12:00 pm

Thanks for reply, this is great, it feels like home with CNA :)
