Isn’t it ironic how we Filipinos would often shake our heads and say ‘only in the Philippines’ to express our frustration over the negative turn of events in our country?
Foreigners, on the other hand, would say ‘only in the Philippines’ in awe and amazement over the beauty of our country and the Filipinos.
I guess this is because the Philippines is such a beautiful paradox that we ourselves often misunderstand it.
During the past two years that I have been with Channel NewsAsia, I have rediscovered many interesting facets of the Philippines that I have taken for granted.
I hope that this blog will not only enable me to share the Philippines’ unique charm, it will also serve as a platform for all Filipinos and those who adore the Philippines, to share everything and anything that is truly and distinctively Filipino, and be proudly Pinoy.
